The 24th annual reunion for the descendents of Alfred and Maria Martin was held on Sunday, July 22, 2012, at the Fearing Township Community Building in Stanleyville. A covered dish dinner was shared by the 79 members present. There also was a white elephant auction, crafts for the children and bingo.
Officers were elected to remain the same: president, Linda Erb; vice-president, Shirley Morgenstern; secretary, Carol Heslop; treasurer, Eric Pritchett.
Gifts were awarded to those members present as oldest woman, Sylvia Lauer, 94; oldest man, Richard Lauer, 89; youngest child, Aiden Garrison, eight weeks; most recently married, Mike and Kari Antill, June 12, 2010; married longest, Richard and Goldie Lauer, 66 years; most family members present, Richard and Goldie Lauer, 29; person traveling farthest, Bryan, Jen and Owen Morgenstern from Cortland, Ohio; door prize was by Anne Blosser. Other members were from Parkersburg, W.Va., Philo and Grove City.
Next year's 25th reunion will be held at the same location on July 28, 2013, at 12:30 p.m.
