Bernard D. Clark, 91, of Beverly, died Thursday (Aug. 2, 2012) at Appletree Assisted Living in Beverly. He was born Aug. 24, 1920, in Hocking County, Ohio, son of Walter Herman and Gladys Cox Clark.
He was retired from the Ohio Power Company after many years of service. He graduated from Philo High School in 1938. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Beverly United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #389, the Anchor Masonic Lodge # 283 and the Olive Branch Eastern Star.
He was married May 31, 1938, to G. Maxine Payne Clark who died March 5, 2010. He is survived by two sons, Richard Clark and his wife Marilyn of Beverly and James Clark and his wife Marlene of Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren, Dr. Richard Clark and his wife Krystal of Marietta, Cathy Borich and her husband Mark of Beverly, Diana Brown and her husband Greg of Oak Ridge, N.C., and Michelle Fain and her husband James of Indianapolis, Ind.; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and a sister, Catherine Enright.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Beverly United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Corbett and Pastor James Fain officiating. Burial will be in Beverly Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly and one hour before the service at the church.
