Frontier Country

Frontier Country 4-H's meeting was held July 22 at the home of Ashton Deel.

The meeting was called to order and began with the American pledge and 4-H pledge. Roll call and the treasurer's report were given.

New news included that the 2012 Title for the year is "4-H?American's Heart & Soul". The Frontier Country Facebook page has all the club's information. The club thanks Jessica Bellville on the July 9 Project Judging. All Pen reservation forms needed to get to Angie by July 31. The club was thanked for sponsoring a trophy for the fair

Market Livestock Skillathon Study Guides: these study guides have pictures of breeds, feed; all members have to participate to be eligible to show and sell at the fairs. go.osu.edu/skillathonstudyguide; go.osu.edu/poultrybreeds and go.osu.edu/feedsamples.

Feeder Calf Tag-In: for Barlow calf completed.

Barlow Fair schedule change: Junior Fair and Open Rabbit show at the Barlow Fair will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29 instead of Friday, Sept. 28.

Fair Board of Directors needed: The Washington County Fair Board will have several positions up for election on Labor Day during the 2012 Washington County Fair. If you are a resident of Washington County and are 18 years or older you are eligible to run in this year's election. For more details on how to participate please call Bonnie Gill at (740) 525-0258.

The club 4-H fun day was Aug. 4.

Demonstration at the end of the meeting will be cake decorating by Kaylen Morrison, makeover my space by Kylee Morrison and self determined by Austin Yoak

The next meeting will be held Aug. 12 at Winstanleys' with the following members doing their demonstrations: market hogs by Makayla Carpenter and Josh Winstanley. Beef feeder by Alisia Winstanley, Brianna Winstanley and Kristen Winstanley, beekeeping by Seth Bellville, let's explore outdoors by Cam Bellville, Gracie and Shane Mendenhall.
