A suspect in the robbery of a Stockport bank today is believed to be in custody.
Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks said at 12:55 p.m. that he'd been contacted by Morgan County authorities who said they had a vehicle stopped and a suspect in custody.
Mincks was alerted around 12:20 p.m. that a bank in the Morgan County village of Stockport had been robbed by a suspect who left in a vehicle described as a black Ford, possibly heading toward Washington County.
Scanner traffic indicated the man had a gun, and Mincks said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
The man was described as a white adult male with blonde, shoulder-length hair, wearing a black knit cap, gray insulated shirt and black sweatpants with a white pin strip.
Additional information, including the name and location of the bank, were not immediately availale. A woman who answered the phone at the Morgan County Sheriff's Office said she could not release any information.
