BELPRE - Warren won the team title while Marietta High's Jared Hammons claimed medalist honors in the season opening Washington County Championship at Oxbow Golf & Country Club Friday.
The Nathan Evans-coached Warriors outpointed the second-place, John Doughty-led Tigers and the third-place Belpre Golden Eagles, 318-327. (MHS won the tiebreaker to finish runner-up.)
"I thought we had a good day," Evans said. "I have a pretty good group of guys who have worked hard to get better. They're easy to coach and listen to you."
