Beverly A. Doyon, 74, of Marietta, passed away Thursday (Aug. 9, 2012) in Marietta.
She was born May 13, 1938, in Kokomo, Indiana, to Lawrence and Myrtle (Little) Riggs. She married James Doyon on June 24, 1961, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and they were together for 51 years. Beverly was an avid reader, including history and true crime stories. She and Jim traveled throughout their lives, often visiting Canada, California, and Florida, and they also traveled to the Bahamas, England, and France. She loved boating, playing various card and dice games, and visiting with friends.
She was a bank teller for many years and worked at the Ohio State University as an administrative assistant in the College of Education. She proudly served as a member of a federal Grand Jury in Columbus about 10 years ago.
She is survived by her beloved husband, James; sons, Thomas of Bellbrook, Ohio, and Robert of Tracy, California; daughter-in-law, Susan Doyon of Bellbrook; and two dearly loved granddaughters, Emily Doyon of Bellbrook and Audrey Richardson of Raleigh, North Carolina. She is also survived by two brothers, James and Lawrence; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and family, especially her very dear friends Bob and Lori Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Fred; and a sister, Nancy. She was also preceded in death by a completely spoiled, but much loved pet, a Shar-Pei named Beijing.
The family is planning a memorial service to celebrate her life at noon on Saturday (Aug. 25, 2012) at the Reno School Hall on Sandhill Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks those wishing to remember Beverly to consider donating to the Alzheimer's Association.
