Dorothy Ellen Bolyard, 76, of Tunnelton, W.Va., died Wednesday (Aug. 15, 2012) at home with family by her side.
She was born Jan. 25, 1936, in Kingwood, W.Va., a daughter of the late Asa Franklin and Bertha Jane Minor.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and an active member of the Tunnelton Senior Citizens. She worked as a dietary aide for Preston Memorial Hospital and loved quilting and gardening.
She is survived by four sons, Ronald Bolyard and his wife, Amanda, Ricky Bolyard and his wife, Cindy, Robert Bolyard and his wife, Chris, and Dennis Bolyard and his companion, Sheila, all of Tunnelton; a daughter, Darla Miller and her husband, Jim, of Marietta, Ohio; a brother, Richard Minor of Hopewell, Va.; a sister, Brenda Sines of Tunnelton; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harvey A. Bolyard; four brothers, Frank, Donald, Joe and Carl Minor; three sisters, Edna Plodzik, Dana and Diane Minor; and a grandson, Lucas Bolyard.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Aug. 17, 2012) at Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Robert Uphold officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Israel Cemetery on Marquess Road.
