Karrie Le-Ayne Lauer and Evan Paul Lang were united in marriage on May 12 at Putnam Congregational Church. The ceremony was officiated by Pastor Barb Jackson.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Vicky Lauer of Marietta. She is the granddaughter of Paul and the late Leona Doan of Marietta and Ann and the late Noble Lauer of Sardis. She is a 2003 graduate of Marietta High School, a 2008 graduate of Ohio University, and a 2010 graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She is currently working as a Doctor of Physical Therapy at Avante in Waynesboro, Va.
The bridegroom is the son of Jeffrey and Paula Lang of Lowell. He is the grandson of Paul and Jeanne Perry of Beverly and the late Peggy Perry. He is also the grandson of Marilyn and the late Richard Lang of Lowell. He is a 2003 graduate of Marietta High School. He currently is employed at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va. as a Warehouse Specialist.
The bride was escorted by her father down the aisle and given in marriage by her parents. She wore an ivory, delicate chiffon strapless, A-line wedding gown with a gathered waistline, lace up back, chapel train, and detailing throughout. Her hair was accented by a rhinestone headband and elbow length veil. She carried a bouquet of hydrangeas accented with sea shells.
The maid of honor was Kayla Lauer, sister of the bride, of Marietta. Bridesmaids included Jamie Harris, cousin of the bride, of Marietta, and Heather Wilson of Waynesboro, Va. They wore satin wide strap tea-length sweetheart neckline malibu dresses with belted waistline accented with a rhinestone starfish brooch.
The best man was Jarrod Lang, brother of the bridegroom, of Beverly. Groomsmen included Dwight Offenberger of Whipple and Ethan Tidd, cousin of the bride, of Marietta. The bridegroom wore a tax tuxedo with a malibu vest and solid malibu tie. The groomsmen wore tan tuxedos with malibu vests and bow ties. The bridegroom and groomsmen wore starfish boutonnieres.
The flower princesses were Madison Weckbacher, cousin of the bride, of Marietta and Alyssa Lang, niece of the bridegroom, of Beverly.
Ushers included Kyle Antill, future brother-in-law, of Marietta and Shawn Offenberger of Whipple.
Following the ceremony a reception with dinner and dancing was held at the Lafayette Hotel in Marietta.
The couple took an Eastern Caribbean Honeymoon Cruise aboard the Carnival Freedom.
Currently the couple resides in Harrisonburg, Va. with plans to return to Marietta.
