- Blennerhassett Island was the site of a Penthouse photo shoot.
- The Marietta Senior High School sophomore class will be going door-to-door selling eggs for $1. Money raised will go to the sophomore class fundraising effort.

- Delmer Hallett, 14, fell 15 feet from a tree on Harmar Street. He broke both wrists, knocked out several teeth, and cut his lip. He was climbing the tree for a crowd of other boys.
- Freight train No. 86 on the O. & L. K. division of the B. & O. railroad left the track at Miller's Crossing, about 1.5 miles above Marietta. Seven cars derailed and 150 feet of track was torn up. It will take about two days before any trains can go through the area.
