Graveside services and interment for Doris M. (nee: Walters) Wilson, 72, of McConnelsville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 25, 2012) in Mentor Cemetery, 6881 Hopkins Road, Mentor, Ohio. Please meet in Section 25, near the south end of the cemetery.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Arnett residence in Willoughby Hills following the graveside service.
Mrs. Wilson passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday (Aug. 21, 2012) at her niece's home, following a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born Jan. 21, 1940, in Morgan County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Dean and Dorothy (nee: Dennis) Walters, she was a longtime resident of Euclid and Willoughby Hills, before moving to McConnelsville in 1992.
Doris was loved and cherished by her family and friends, including the fuzzy ones whom she often supported through her numerous donations to animal rescue organizations. She will be remembered fondly for her generosity, kindness and sense of humor.
A loving sister, she is survived by her brothers, Philip (Ardith) Walters and Herschel Bruce (Louise) Walters. She was also a beloved aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt of many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Wilson, Jr. on Dec. 8, 1989. Her sisters, Imogene Rowe and Marilyn Mansour are also deceased.
There will be no calling hours at the funeral home.
