Sylvia Lauer, 94, passed away on Wednesday (Aug. 22, 2012).
She was born on Jan. 9, 1918, at home in the Moss Run community, a daughter of Rudolph and Clara Martin Smithberger. On Feb. 12, 1936, she married Ralph Lauer who preceded her in death on June 15, 1991. Sylvia and her husband worked on their family farm. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting.
Sylvia is survived by her grandchildren, Gerald (Diana) Antill and Kevin Antill both of Marietta; great-grandchildren, Michael (Kari) Antill, Calvin Antill and Christopher Antill; and a great-great-grandchild, Kaitlynn.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Leona Antill; and son-in-law, Paul Antill.
Funeral services will be held on Monday (Aug. 27) at 1 p.m. at Sixth and Washington Street Church of Christ with Roger Rush officiating with burial in Dalzell Cemetery.
