Karen Lea Mitchell, 66, of Marietta, died Monday (Aug. 27, 2012) at her home. She was born Sept. 5, 1945, in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late William E. and Lela S. Pile Bonar. She was a 1964 graduate of Dexter City High School. She was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling, having recently enjoyed a cruise to Alaska with her husband. She also enjoyed visiting casinos and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Dean Mitchell, whom she married May 18, 1964; two children, Kelley Ann Kazemi of Hilliard, and Jeffrey Douglas (Debbie) Mitchell of Westerville; one granddaughter, Sema A. Kazemi of Hilliard; one brother, Kenneth E. and (Audrey A.) Bonar of Pleasant City; and one nephew, Darren Bonar.
No calling hours will be observed. A graveside service will be observed Thursday (Aug. 30, 2012) at 11:30 a.m. at South Olive Cemetery near Dexter City with Pastor Jon Irvin officiating.
