Arthur L. Varner II, 60, of Marietta, formerly of Parkersburg, died on (Aug. 27, 2012) at The OSU Ross Heart Hospital. Art was born on July 21, 1952, to the late Arthur L. and Margie Beall Varner.
He is survived by the love of his life, Doreen; his dog, Sami Jo; sisters, Judy Varner and Barb (Don, whom he felt was his true brother) Wigal of Parkersburg; Doreen's parents, Mary Ann and Merle; her sister, Denise (Rob) Fish of St. Clairsville; and brother, David (Charlotte) Horn of Chesapeake, Va. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and one great-great-nephew.
Art graduated from Parkersburg High School and WVUP (AAS Social Services). He also served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He loved talking to his many friends, fishing, bowling and helping anyone who needed him.
He donated his body to the Human Gift Registry at OSU. He requested not to have a memorial service. Condolences can be sent to The Varner Family, 131, Frederick St., Marietta, OH 45750.
