James L. and Kate Duvall of Williamstown are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. They were married Aug. 25, 1942, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Parkersburg.
He is the son of the late Lee Allen and Julia Farley Duvall. He retired from Gulf Oil and Plastics, Marietta Plant in 1983, where he worked in the maintenance department. He attends St. Mary Catholic Church. He has been active in The American Legion Post 159, Williamstown, The Boaz Lions Club, and is a former commissioner for the Central Boaz Public Service District.
She is the daughter of the late Brooks B. and Anna Laura Norman. She is a housewife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is a member of The First United Methodist Church and The American Legion Auxiliary in Williamstown.
They have three children: Timothy (Susan) of Williamstown, Rebecca Kay Deem (Michael) of Ripley, and Joseph of Williamstown. They have three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A family celebration will be observed this weekend.
