A Little Hocking man is in the Washington County Jail, charged with felonious assault, for allegedly stabbing a Marietta man on Franklin Street early Saturday morning.
According to a report from Marietta City Police, Chavezze Levi Kidder, 18, of 148 Oak Drive, Little Hocking, stabbed Tommee Lee Garvin, 19, of 610 Cutler St., Marietta, during an altercation in the 100 block of Franklin Street around 1 a.m. Saturday.
In the police report, Garvin stated he was visiting a friend at 126 Franklin St. when he saw a vehicle driving about 70 mph along the street, then stopped at the intersection of Franklin and Pearl streets.
As Garvin approached the car he encountered Kidder, who Garvin said had stolen $300 worth of marijuana from him in the past. The two got into a fight during which Kidder produced a knife and stabbed Garvin twice in the left side of his back, once in the right side of his chest, and once in the left arm.
Garvin told police once the fight was over Kidder handed him his glasses, told Garvin "I love you like a brother," and urged him to go to the hospital to get checked out.
Garvin 's girlfriend took him to the MMH emergency room where he was admitted and was listed in stable condition Sunday.
At 3:23 Saturday afternoon, Kidder contacted Marietta City Police, claiming he had been attacked during the night by a group of male subjects. Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff's Office went to Kidder's Little Hocking residence and arrested him for felonious assault.
Kidder is scheduled to appear in Marietta Municipal Court at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
