Fall Frolics is back aboard the Showboat Becky Thatcher. Shows will be Thursdays through Saturdays. Tickets are $6.50 on Thursdays and $7.50 on weekends. Advance reservations are recommended.
Entertainment for this year's Washington County Fair includes Jerry Clower, Mel McDaniel and the Joie Chitwood Thrill Show.

The Safe-Cabinet Company hosted a delicious banquet at the Country Club. After the meal, C.A. Patterson, of Chicago, gave the first speech. Many other banquet goers made speeches before the night was up.
William Vatlean, 8, suffered from a heat related illness. He was in critical condition for some time.
