Ralph B. Westbrook, 87, of Little Hocking, passed away on Saturday (Sept. 8, 2012) at Harmar Place in Marietta.
He was born in Borland Springs, W.Va., on Feb. 4, 1925, a son of the late William "Frank" and Estella Mae Crandall Westbrook.
Ralph had served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army - Air Force. He retired from Badger Lumber in Parkersburg where he had worked for 35 years. Ralph was a member of the Belpre Church of Christ where he was a past Elder from 1970 to 2004.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty L. Montgomery Westbrook; daughters, Sharon Lamp of Belpre, Joyce Foreman and Bryan of Vincent, Debbie Clark and Marty of Cutler; sons, Don Westbrook and Charlotte of Little Hocking, Mark Westbrook and Kim of Cutler; 18 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and 34 four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his brothers, George and Harold Westbrook.
The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Belpre Church of Christ with Ron Laughery, Brian Grubbs, Teddy Tackett and Tony Foreman officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery of Belpre with full military rites by American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, and from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
