Disco Sweat with "Rachel" Simmons: Sept 10, 10:30-11:30 a.m.;"Rachel" Simmons, aka Becky Pein, with Marietta Care and Rehabilitation Center will lead you in the class of Sweating to the Oldies by Richard Simmons; Richard has been exercising and helping persons of all ages lose those extra pounds for 30 years. Replenishing juices will be served after the workout.
Armchair Traveler: Sept 12, 2 p.m. Back is a popular program which enables everyone to enjoy travels while staying right here in Marietta; Lynne Shuman will share her book titled "Travels with Time Share: Extraordinary Adventures by Ordinary People." September's topic will be Europe; October will be Canada. Look for this program on the second Wednesday each month.
Avoid Medication Mishaps: Sept. 13, 1 p.m., Christina Cross of Ohio Home Care will give you tips for managing multiple medications, learn how to take the right medicine at the right time, and organize your medications.
To Your Health! Food Safety for Seniors: Sept. 17, 9 a.m.; This program is a first of a series of Health & Wellness presentations from Heartland of Marietta. Food safety is important for everyone and especially important for older adults who are at greater risk and more susceptible to food borne illness. Attendees will view a 14 minute video and receive an informational booklet. Refreshments will be provided.
AARP Driving Course: Monday, Sept 17, 1 p.m.; Since 1979, AARP Driver Safety has offered the nation's first and largest course for drivers 50+ and has helped millions of drivers stay in command of the road. You'll learn proven safety strategies to help maintain your confidence behind the wheel, so you can make new memories on the road. This 4 hour class will cover the skills of driving with certificate upon completing the course. Many insurance companies offer a discount for seniors who have completed this course. Cost for AARP members $12 non-members $14, payable to AARP the day of class. Please register early as class size is limited
Stroke/ Rehab screening: Sept. 19, 1 to 2 p.m.; This Stroke Screening is free and open to the public. The screening includes a risk assessment, vital sign check by a nurse (which includes blood pressure, pulse and listening to carotid arteries with a stethoscope.) There is also an educational component to the screening to review risk factors and warning signs. Overall, it is a free comprehensive stroke screening performed by the staff of The Rehabilitation Center at Marietta Memorial Hospital. The Rehabilitation Center at Marietta Memorial Hospital is CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited as a Stroke Specialty Program.
Osteoporosis: Sept 26, 9:30 a.m.; Kathy D. Merrill, nurse practitioner at Marietta Health and Wellness Center will speak on Osteoporosis, introducing a lumbar decompression brace currently gaining success with many patients.

Generations Online: Generations Online, offering basic computer skills for seniors, is available Monday through Friday. There is no charge. Walk-ins are welcome.
Computer lab: Marietta College computer lab assistants are available from noon to 2 p.m. on Mondays; 2:15 to 4 p.m., Tuesdays; 2 to 3:30 p.m., Wednesdays; 10 to 11:30 a.m., Thursdays; and 2 to 3:30 p.m. Fridays.
Blood sugar and Blood Pressure Screening: Screening is available the first Wednesday and Thursday of each month from 8:30 to 10 a.m. provided by Marietta City Health Department and Ohio Home Care of Belpre.
Blood Pressure Testing: Testing available from 10 a.m. to noon the first and third Monday of every month.
Bible Study Group: Group meets at 10 a.m. the second and fourth Tuesday each month. Everyone is welcome to join this group discussing books of the Bible.
Quilting Group: Group meets at 9:30 a.m. every second Wednesday each month.
