'Bowser' to speak

at Marietta rally

The National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare will kick off its national tour at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Muskingum Park in Marietta. The event will include spokesman Jon "Bowser" Bauman, from the 1970/80's rock band Sha Na Na. There will be free refreshments and campaign materials and voters can sign pledges promising to vote only for candidates who will preserve Social Security and Medicare benefits for current and future generations.

Library personnel committee to meet

The next Washington County Public Library personnel committee meeting will be held at noon Tuesday in the main library meeting room, 615 Fifth St., Marietta.

The next Washington County Public Library Board of Trustees regular meeting will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the main library meeting room.

Waterford's Class

of 1950 to gather

The 1950 Waterford High School class will have its monthly luncheon at 11 a.m. Sept. 20 at the Cornerstone Inn in Beverly. All classmates and friends are welcome.

Gospel and country music at Cutler

The Decatur Community Association will sponsor a dinner with live gospel and country music from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Cutler Community Center, 4550 Two Mile Run Road. The menu will be country fried steak, mashed potatoes/gravy, macaroni and cheese, green beans, coleslaw, rolls, homemade desserts and coffee, tea, or lemonade. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for those ages 6 to 12. The dinner this month will be hosted by "God's Gang," a Christian youth group. Musicians will be hosted by "Jim Blair and Friends." Proceeds benefit the Cutler Community Center.

Old Iron Power

Club power show

The Old Iron Power Club will hold its fifth annual Antique Power Show Saturday and Sunday at the Noble County Fairgrounds in Caldwell. This year's show features Massey Ferguson & Massey Harris and any make of Side Shaft Engine. The show will open at 8 a.m. each day.
