BYESVILLE - Mitchell Grose broke the tape first in the Colt Carnival 5K boys cross country run at Meadowbrook High on Saturday.
The Marietta High cross country standout covered the 3.1-mile distance in a winning time of 16 minutes, 27.81 seconds.
Caldwell's Jenna Furr captured the top spot in the girls' 5K race in a clocking of 19:31.1.

As a team, the Dale Leeper-coached Tiger boys finished third behind first-place Indian Creek and runner-up Caldwell.
In the boys run, Caldwell's Tanner Harding was runner-up to Grose in 16:45.27. Morgan's James Sheets was third; Waterford's Eli Strahler, fourth; Caldwell's Jonathan Niswonger, fifth; and Marietta's Avery Phillips, seventh.
On the girls' side, Caldwell's Katie Saling was second to Furr in 19:54.26. Morgan's Baylee Garrett finished sixth; and Morgan's Cheyenne Hanson, seventh.
The Marietta girls as a team were fourth overall behind first-place Cambridge, runner-up Caldwell, and third-place Morgan.
The first Lady Tiger in was Brittany Deskins (14th, 21:50.23), followed by Olivia Wesel, Julie Fobes, and Jenell Betts.
Marietta is scheduled to compete in the Mid-Ohio Valley Challenge at the Mineral Wells (W.Va.) Fairgrounds on Tuesday.
