David J. Long, 86, of Reno, passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Thursday (Sept. 20, 2012) at his home.
He was born on May 12, 1926, at Neffs Ridge, a son of Floyd Homer and Nora Arlena "Lena" Cline Long. He attended Lawrence School and retired after 32 years from B. F. Goodrich in the Shipping Department.
On Oct. 28, 1950, he married Patricia Boswell who survives with children, Pamela (Kelly) McLeish of Reno, Jodell Habegger of Hinesville, Ga.; grandchildren, Chad W. Hall and Brian D. Hall both of Reno; great-grandchildren, Morgan Hall and Maliki Hall, brother Ralph Long of Marietta; and sister, Ruth Eddy of Reno.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Virgil Long and Edward "Gene" Long.
Funeral services will be held on Monday (Sept. 24) at 11 a.m. at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Steve DeLay officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.
