The Marietta city council held a meeting regarding parking lots in residential districts. The new laws will give guidelines for building parking lots, which include notifying adjoining neighbors when building will take place.
A meeting will be held at the O'Neill Senior Center for the purpose of helping the Washington County Sheriff's Office pass a 2-mill levy.

Marietta Memorial Hospital's Women's Health Fair will be held Sept. 26. The Fair is free and will offer information, screenings, and a chance for discounted membership of the Women's Center for Health. There will also be discussions on various health issues women face.
The Marietta City Board of Education is allowing two students to assist in an advisory capacity for a seven-month period. This trial period will allow students to have a voice on the Board.
