Tupperware bingo fundraiser planned
The Friends of the Barlow Library will hold a Tupperware bingo fundraiser Oct. 19 at the library. Tickets wil be $20 for 20 games. Tickets can be purchased ain advance or at the door. Each winner will receive a Tupperware container. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, country store and concessions. All proceeds will benefit the Barlow Library.

Final class on exotic fruits at Beverly library
Two exotic, tropical fruits will be spotlighted in the September Family Nutrition Programs: Avocados and Mangos, the fruit not the vegetable. And, why do we call green peppers mangos?
The final class will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Beverly library.
Join Cindy Styer, Ohio State University Extension Family Nutrition Program Assistant, at the library to see how and why to incorporate these fruits into your diet. A Veggie Bean Wrap with avocados, mangos, and bell peppers will be featured for all to sample.
Be a participant at these locations and receive a free insulated, reusable grocery tote to store mangos on the way home from the grocer.

School plans chicken dinner next month
St. Mary School, Third and Marion streets, will hold a chicken dinner with homemade noodles and all the trimmings on Sunday, Oct. 14, at the school from 1 to 6 p.m. $8 adults, $5.50 children 12 and under, children under 2 are free. There will be an auction and raffle with $4,000 in prizes given away, plus games for the children.
MHS Class of 1950 luncheon at VFW
The Marietta High School Class of 1950 will hold a luncheon at noon Wednesday at the VFW on Pike Street. All classmates and friends are welcome.
Library program on newest American girl
Girls ages 7 to 12 are invited to the Marietta location of the Washington County Public Library, 615 Fifth St., at 1:30 p.m. Saturday to talk about the life and times of the newest American Girl, Caroline. The program includes playing games, making a craft and having a snack.
