Legion auxiliary sponsors Poker Run

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 389 in Beverly will sponsor its ninth annual Poker Run Oct. 6. The cost is $10 per person or $15 per couple. The first bike out will be at 11 a.m. and the last bike out is at 1 p.m. There will be door prizes, a 50/50, food and a Harley-Davidson quilt to be auctioned off. Proceeds will benefit the RIF program and other auxiliary projects.

The Crohn's and Colitis Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the private dining room at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

History, genealogy fair Oct. 6 in Barlow

A Local History and Genealogy Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Community Resource Center in the basement of the Barlow Branch Library. Sponsored by the Western Washington County Historical Society, the event aims to bring together area family histories, organization and church histories in scrapbooks, family trees, photographs, slide shows, maps, artifacts or other formats. Anyone who has an interest in the area's history is invited to participate and display their history at no charge. The event itself will not have an admission charge. A table can be reserved for participants' use by calling 678-2471 or 885-8822. Food and beverages will be available at the event.

YMCA?celebrates 110 years of service

The Marietta Family YMCA, 300 N. Seventh St., will hold a 110th anniversary celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. There will be food, youth and family games, inflatables, cornhole and a history of the Y available.

VFW 5108 hosts Poker Ride Sunday

VFW Post 5108, 319 Pike St., Marietta, is hosting a Bikers for America's Bravest 343 Poker Ride Sunday. Registration begins at 9:11 a.m. The cost is $25 per bike. All proceeds will go to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation and Building for American's Bravest to fund a smart home for local soldier Kyle Hockenberry.
