In six weeks, registered voters across this nation will head to the polls - most doing so because it's a presidential election year.
Tuesday, Nov. 6, is fast approaching.
With that, we'd also like to remind you of another deadline that is nearing, namely the one that grants you the right to vote.
Registering to vote takes place through Oct. 9 in Ohio and Oct. 16 in West Virginia. We urge all those who have failed to registered to do so immediately.
That can be done in person at the Washington County Board of Elections, by mail or online on the board's website. Applications are also available at the Washington County Public Library, county treasurer's office and some schools. A complete list of locations is available on the board of elections site.
It doesn't take long to register and there are many ways to do so, and do so quickly. We urge all to take part.
Remember, voting is both your right and your responsibility.
