Museum program explores Lowell

The Friends of the Museums fall program will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Campus Martius Museum. The guest speaker will be Jane Anne Rauch, who will narrate a slide presentation of old Lowell postcards from when Lowell was a busy, thriving village. Regular museum admission applies, which is $7 for adults, $4 for students and free for children 5 and under.

Disabilities board meets Tuesday

The Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities will hold a regular board meeting at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday at Ewing School, 1701 Colegate Drive, Marietta.

Winemakers at New Matamoras library

Guest speakers at the New Matamoras Library's Oct. 8 Coffee Break program will be Craig and Candice Bandy from Wine Tree vineyards in Vienna, W.Va.

The program will be held at 6 p.m. in the library's community room.

Beverly village

commitees meet

The village of Beverly committee meetings for October will be held at 7 pm. Wednesday. The next regular council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 10. The village Board of Public Affairs meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Oct. 17. Council will also hold a special meeting with the Board of Public affairs at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 17 to discuss the Spring Hills development. All meetings will be held at the village office, 919 Mitchell Ave.

Cancer screenings available next month

Breast and cervical cancer screenings and education will be provided by the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine's Community Health Programs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday. The clinic will be held in the program's mobile health van at the old M&M school lot of Jefferson Street between Kennebec and 7th streets in McConnelsville. Another clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Washington County Health Department, 342 Muskingum Drive. Appointments are required by calling 800-844-2654.
