‘Gerri Smith’ Beulah Geraldine Smith

"Gerri Smith" Beulah Geraldine Smith, 87, of Parkersburg, died on Saturday (Sept. 29, 2012) at CCMC Memorial Campus. She was born Nov. 19, 1924 in Harrisville, W.Va., to the late Harry J. and Bertha Carpenter Taylor.

Gerri worked as the purchasing manager at Borg-Warner and was a member of St. John United Methodist Church in Vienna, W.Va. She enjoyed many hobbies with her husband. They include traveling, collecting antiques, fishing, riding bikes, and golfing.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Edwin T. Smith; two sisters, Christella Stepnick and Kathleen Carpenter; five nieces, Donna Mason, Susie Swisher, Zeda Brown, Penny Bouris and Stella Sylvester; and five nephews, David Stepnick, Wendall Summers, Nick Bouris, Harry Bouris, and Anthony Bouris.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Rosalie Bouris, Genevieve Summers, and Lucille Stephens.

The funeral service will be Wednesday (Oct. 3) beginning at 11 a.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will follow the service at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday (Oct. 2) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
