A memorial service for Noreen S. Ley-Saylor, fondly known as "Ree" or "Reen," 65, of Newark, will be held at noon on Saturday (Oct. 6) at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 67 North Fifth St., Newark, with the Rev. William J. Rauch officiating.
Noreen passed away on Wednesday (Sept. 26, 2012) at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 10, 1947 in Parkersburg to Robert G. and Patricia H. (Keight) Ley of Marietta.
Noreen had been employed by Newark City Schools as an Ortho Aide and was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She loved animals and also caring for her flowers.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Richard A. "Dick" Saylor; daughters, Patricia (Rusty) Smith of Newark and Michaelene (Adam) Dohmen of Wichita Falls, Texas; grandchildren, Baron (Courtney), Chase (Sarah), Amanda, Hannah and Cheyenne; great-granddaughter, Jaica; brothers, Robert G. (Sue) Ley, Jr. of Cambridge, John L. (Mary Ann) Ley of Marietta and Michael A. (Jackie) Ley of Dellroy; brother-in-law, Davey (Mary Lou) Saylor of Newark; sister-in-law, Nancy Saylor of Newark; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; best friend, Janet Kominar; and her treasured dogs, Moses (deceased) and Brie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, the Licking County Aging Program, the Licking County Humane Society and Stop the Suffering for Animals.
The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
