Tracy Lynn (Taylor) Aragon

October 2, 2012
The Marietta Times

Sept. 24, 1969-Sept. 29, 2012

Tracy was born in Jacksonville, Florida and grew up in Marietta. She attended Bowling Green State University, received her Language Development Specialist Certificate in 1995, and her Master of Education: Educational Management degree in 1998. She moved to Bakersfield, California in 1992 in search of a bilingual teaching position. She began her career at Hort Elementary, was selected as Teacher of the Year at Horace Mann, and ended her career with her Voorhies family.

Tracy enjoyed being a BTSA (new teacher) support provider and a site technology coordinator, but her first love was teaching and building relationships with the EL students she tutored after school every year. During her lifetime, Tracy was a lifeguard (once saving a young boy's life), a Fanilow, a bit of a hoarder (garage only), and the inspiration for a Relay for Life team, FOTA. Her favorite movie was "Patch of Blue," with her man Sidney Poitier, and she loved Target, Skittles, Sharpies, Sonic's Diet Cherry Limeade, iPhones/Pads, Seinfeld, Las Vegas (Wheel.. of.. Fortune!), and her doggies.

But most important to her were her children, Olivia and Cruz Arreola, and she fought as hard as she could to stay with them. She is also survived by her husband, Raymond Aragon; mother, Paula Taylor (Ohio); sister, Kelly Friar (Virginia); father, Richard Taylor (Ohio); grandmother, Jean Peterson (Ohio); aunt and uncle, Nancy and Allan Jones (Virginia); extended family, and a family of friends.

Thank you to all family and friends for your amazing support, and a special thank you to CBCC, Dr. Patel, and Suzanna for the vital work you do every day. "Serenity Now!", Tracy ("and divide that by six"). What will we do without your warmth, humor, and that beautiful smile? We love you!

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society/Relay for Life.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Greenlawn Mortuary at 3700 River Blvd. from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 5). Graveside services will be held in Mound Cemetery in Marietta at the convenience of the family.
