Two new federal bills ask that Blennerhassett Island be named a national park. The bills have strong support and it is likely that the Mid-Ohio Valley will become a tourist hotspot.
Twenty-six bands are expected to perform in the 26th Band-O-Rama. The competition starts at 2:15 Saturday, Oct. 3, at Don Drumm Stadium.

"Uncle Tom's Cabin" will be performed tonight at the auditorium. The curtain opens at 8 p.m.
The Marietta Band will perform in the City Park Oct. 3 at 7:30. Tunes include marches and war songs.
