The Marietta athletic boosters club announced that it will not aid the 19 sports programs if the 8.5-mill levy fails in November.
The Beverly branch of the Washington County Library will offer storytime to preschool-age children from 10 to 10:45 a.m. The sessions start Oct. 7 and continue through Dec. 9.

Wells' Millinery Store will be opening for a few hours tonight to show off its new line of suits and coats. The Marietta Orchestra will perform.
Macksburg will hold a vote on Beal law. This will determine whether or not the city stays "dry." If the petitioners of the "wet" vote prevail, several saloons will open up.
