Soup supper at

Sand Hill church

Sand Hill United Methodist Church in Reno will hold a soup supper from 4 to 7 p.m. today. The menu will include bean-and-potato soup, hot dogs, cornbread, dessert and beverages. A free will offering will be taken.

Harvest Fest at Bethel Center

The Bethel Community Center will hold its 15th annual Harvest Fest from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Bethel Community Center in Marr at the junction of Ohio 260 and Ohio 537. There will be music, gas engines, old flywheel engines, quilts, crafts, food, rides to the Marr Mall, games for children, old tractors, a banjo contest, apple butter and soup beans over an open fire.

County health office holds flu shot clinic

The Washington County Health Department will hold a drive thru flu shot clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the health department, 342 Muskingum Drive, Marietta. Medicare, Medicaid and cash will be accepted.

Waterford FFA

alumni conduct pull

The Waterford FFA Alumni, in conjunction with the Washington County Antique Tractor & Equipment Club, will be hosting a Speed and Tug Pull starting at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Waterford Community Fairgrounds. The rain date will be Oct. 14. Speed classes will consist of 3,500 pounds to 9,500 pounds. Tug classes will consist of 5,500, 6,500 and 7,500 pounds. The pull will follow all rules of the WCATEC. There will be a lunch stand on the grounds.

Humane Society Adopt-A-Thon

An Adopt-A-Thon for the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Furs a Flying Pet Grooming, 102 Pike St., Marietta. The Humane Society will have several dogs and cats to be adopted and they will fill out paper work and receive payment there. Coupons for free grooming will be given with each adoption and the Friends of Felines will cover the cost of spay/neuter for each cat adopted.
