Those who have enjoyed the annual Holiday Tour of Homes sponsored by the Betsey Mills Club will savor its newest creation-Marietta's Fine Kitchen and Fine Food Tour to be held Sunday at four Marietta homes.
"People really enjoy going out to the holiday tour of homes," said Shauna Cornwell, activities coordinator for the Betsey Mills Club. "This is a different spin focusing on one room in the house instead of the whole home."
The club decided on an October date for this first-ever tour.

"It's just getting into the fall, the weather is changing and it's time for soup," Cornwell said.
Virginia Mayle, whose house at 321 Fourth St. will be part of the tour, said she is proud to welcome guests into her Marietta home.
"I like for people to see houses in downtown Marietta, to know that it's nice to live downtown here," said Mayle.

- Congressman Bill and LeeAnn Johnson, 519 Fifth St., Marietta.
- Joyce Robinson and Judy Phillips, 606 Washington St., Marietta.
- Susan and Ethan Vessels, 312 Fifth St., Marietta.
Guests will sample a different soup and artisan bread at each house. Soup and bread combinations include: potato leek soup and whole grain bread; chicken fiesta soup with warmed tortillas; pumpkin and black bean soup and sourdough bread; and carrot apple soup with cranberry walnut bread.
Mayle is ladling up the chicken fiesta soup.
"It's chicken and black beans, with a sort of Tex Mex seasoning," she said.
The homes featured on the Fine Kitchen and Fine Food Tour are those of Mayle and Peter Polites, 321 Fourth St., Marietta; Congressman Bill and LeeAnn Johnson, 519 Fifth St., Marietta; Joyce Robinson and Judy Phillips, 606 Washington St., Marietta; and Susan and Ethan Vessels, 312 Fifth St., Marietta.
"All four families who are on the tour are very, very strong supporters of the Betsey Mills Club," said Cornwell.
Sisters Joyce Robinson and Judy Phillips reside in a 1920's two-story stucco bungalow showcasing a newly-renovated kitchen with an eclectic blend of old and new. Vintage touches include an antique chandelier and family Boehm bird and animal plates.
Mayle's Fourth Street home combines the original house built around 1870 and a renovated section boasting a kitchen and family room.
The kitchen has cheery yellow walls, light wood cabinets, a Viking stove, maple wood floors and tall ceilings.
Antique cupboard doors from the home's old pantry have been repurposed and used in the kitchen and family room.
"There are lots of windows (facing) west. In the afternoon it's bright and sunny," Mayle said.
The tour is a fundraiser for the Betsey Mills Club. Profits from the event will go into the club's general fund, Cornwell said.
Marietta's Fine Kitchen and Fine Food Tour will be held Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at any door on the tour.
"If it's a nice day and people want to walk, you definitely can," Cornwell said. Parking will be available at the Washington Street home.
