Constant political mailings irk local voter

October 15, 2012
The Marietta Times

After receiving too numerous to count pieces of political garbage mail, I called the numbers on some of the garbage political mailings to have them discontinued from being sent to my mailing address.

These are from the two candidates running for the presidency running away with money on garbage mail. I feel the money could be put to better use with one item added to our income tax return statement filings.

There is one box that asks if the taxpayer would like to donate $1 to the political campaign to check the box. I would like to see a second box choice to check, one for the national deficit and one for the state, being able to check one or both. If both are checked, the dollar would be divided and each get fifty cents.

I am so sick of such wasted money. I work my household and if I can't pay cash I don't get anything without the means at hand. I do not own a credit card and I use direct deposits and auto-pay plans to save to use for things like my car or food.

Let's stop this political garbage filling up our landfills and costing us money because we don't have it to waste.

Romney nor Mandel have numbers to call them directly. The Obama number given told me to call the person that sent it. I had to use a lot of wasted, more than absolutely needed, cell minutes to make the calls.

Give us a break - put that box on the income tax return and see how fast the garbage mailings from the political parties cease.

What do other people think about these mailings and having a second box choice on tax returns?
