From staff reports , The Marietta Times

BYESVILLE - Fort Frye's volleyball team was due.

Not since 2001 had the Lady Cadet netters won a sectional volleyball crown.

That changed Saturday when Sam Skinner-coached Fort Frye swept Shenandoah, 25-12, 26-24 and 25-13, at Meadowbrook High in Byesville.

Fort Frye’s Abby Baker (8), Natalie Smith (9), Lexi Huck (22), and Bailey Thieman (1) celebrate title, match, and game point against Shenandoah at Meadowbrook High Saturday.

"These girls worked so hard, and improved as the year went by," Skinner said. "Everybody was on the same page, and did a great job."

During the season, Fort Frye was beaten twice by Shenandoah, a Pioneer Valley Conference opponent.

"We just put it together at the right time," Skinner said.
