Area birder Kyle Carlsen has opened a new birding tour and workshop company, Back Road Birding Tours & Workshops. Carlsen's mission is to promote birding in the Mid-Ohio Valley while providing helpful resources for area birders.
Carlsen will offer several workshops in the coming months beginning with "Basic Bird Identification" on Oct. 29. This introductory workshop will focus on identifying common local birds by sight and sound. The workshop will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 29 on Ohio Valley University's main campus in Vienna. Cost is $20 per person.
