Forensics team wins 7 awards in season opening tournament

Marietta College's Forensics Team earned seven awards during the first tournament of the 2012-13 academic year.

The Ohio Forensic Association Fall Tournament in New Concord, Ohio, hosted six competing college teams including Marietta, Cedarville, Heidelberg, Malone, Muskingum and Ohio State on Sept. 15.

Andrew Kasick '13 (Marietta) finished first in both Extemporaneous Speaking and Impromptu Speaking.

Andrew Looker '16 (Canton, Ohio) delivered a second-place finish as the Lincoln-Douglas Debate Speaker and was the Top Novice, while Aaron Dauterman '16 (Canton, Ohio) was the Top Novice in Extemporaneous Speaking as a fourth-place finisher.

Marietta's Jacob Markiewicz '15 (Winfield, Tenn.) also competed for the Pioneers. Dr. Tomeka Robinson, Director of Debate, along with Dr. Jamie Moshin and Sabrina Wittekind '12, graduate student, coaches Marietta.
