Vera B. Sarver, 90, of Marietta, passed away Sunday (Oct. 21, 2012) at Marietta Memorial Hospital. Vera was born Sunday, March 5, 1922, in Germantown, Ohio to the late Clarence and Verna Koon Barth.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, American Legion Post # 64 Ladies Auxiliary, and V.F.W. Post #5108. Vera was an avid bowler and served as treasurer for the W.I.B.C. She also was ranked #2 in the state in the senior league.
She is survived by her children: Candace Teubert (Tom), Harry E. Sarver, John B. Sarver, Marcia Sharpe (Thomas), Lynn Shaffer (Bob), Tom D. Sarver (Peggy); 29 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; niece, Sandra Davis; and son-in-law, Joseph Ricciardi. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin "Dag" Sarver on June 27, 1991; and a daughter, Veronica Jo Ricciardi on June 22, 2012.
A funeral Mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Msgr. John Michael Campbell officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike Street. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, P.O.
