Don’t vote for the ‘typical’ politician on Election Day

October 24, 2012
The Marietta Times

This letter is about attaining wisdom and discipline, for understanding words of insight. Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance. Proverbs.

Thoughts and words of Thomas Jefferson who began studying under a tutor at the age of 5.

At age 33, he wrote a public education bill and a statute for religious freedom. At 83 he died on the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Quotes:

1. The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.

2. My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from two much government.

3. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bare arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

4. I predict future happiness for America if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

This is what Ron Feathers, David White, Mark Kerenyi, Andy Thompson, Josh Mandel and others understand. So, let us "we, the people" vote for those who understand American history and the words of Thomas Jefferson and not the typical politician.
