The Marietta Fall Sandlot Baseball league recently recognized individual accomplishments, and honors for the 2012 fall season at the conclusion of their final week of play.
Jacob Freeman (Warren) was honored with the 2012 Sandlot League Most Valuable Player Award. Freeman hit five homeruns during the season, and provided solid pitching time on the hill allowing only 2 hits in seven mound appearances.
Other Notable Sandlot pitchers that were honored included C.J. Cunningham (Frontier), Andrew Carpenter (Marietta), Jacob Wagner (Warren), Adam Heiss (Fort Frye), Jacob Erb (Marietta), Jesse Adams (Warren), And Zach Cunningham (Frontier).
Sandlot League Second Baseman Chandler Brockmeier (Marietta) led all players by winning the Sandlot League Player of the game award during three separate weeks.
Sandlot Players that all jacked homeruns during the season included, Ben Edgar, Blake Myers, Jacob Wagner, Andrew Carpenter, Jesse Adams, Ryan Wagner,Jacob Freeman, Tim Treadway, Jacob Erb, Dakota Mulneix, and Austin Ide.
Other special honorees included Andrew Carpenter (Marietta) being awarded with the most outstanding, and Best Defensive Play Of The Year Award, and Evan Cunningham (Frontier) was honored with the 2012 Marietta Sandlot League's Rookie Of The Year Award.
