Melinda Kay Lux and David Michael Larson, both of Fort Myers, Fla., announced their engagement on June 17.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Steven and Deborah Lux of Washington, W.Va. She is the granddaughter of the late Robert Forest and Eloise Roe Murdock of LeSage, W.Va. and the late Walter and Clarice Ludwig Lux of Washington, W.Va. She is the niece of James Edward and Rebecca Vaughan of Washington, W.Va. and Robert Stephen Murdock of Ona, W.Va.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Richard and Rosalie Larson of Elk River, Minn. He is the grandson of the late Archie and Bernadine Larson of Elk River, Minn. and the late Bernard and Dora Jane Jacobsen of Zimmerman, Minn.

She is a Parkersburg South High School graduate and earned her BS in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Spanish from Marshall University. She also earned her MS in Forensic Science from Marshall University. Melinda is employed by NeoGenomics Laboratories as a Cytogenetic Technologist in Fort Myers, Florida.

He is an Elk River Area High School graduate of Elk River, Minn. and earned his BS in Finance, Real Estate and Law from California State University Long Beach of California. He is co-owner and operator of Larson Educational Services in Fort Myers, Fla., which is a family operated business specializing in real estate licensing education.

The wedding will be April 27, 2013 in Fort Myers, Fla.
