American Legion toy run is Sunday

American Legion Riders of Post 389 in Beverly will hold a Toy Run Sunday. The entry fee is $10 or the donation of a new toy of equal value. No stuffed toys will be accepted. Motorcycles and other vehicles will leave at 1 p.m. for a short ride and return at 3 p.m. At 4 there will be various items auctioned off including a Harley-Davidson themed T-shirt quilt and pub table. The band Space Chickens will perform at 5 p.m. Proceeds will be split between the Morgan County United Ministries and Washington-Morgan Community Action Secret Santa program.

Frontier FFA holds haunted forest

The Frontier FFA will host a spooktacular haunted forest at 7 p.m. Saturday at Frontier High School. Admission will be $5 per person.

Fire department holiday auction

The Wesley Township Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Christmas auction at the firehouse in Bartlett beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday. All items are new. Food will be available.

Election Day soup dinner planned

The Women in Christian Service of the Little Hocking United Methodist Church will be holding an Election Day Soup Dinner on November 6, 2012. Food will be served from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Dinner will be vegetable beef soup, soup beans, cornbread, drink, & dessert.

Eat in or carry out!

The church is located is located on the corner of Federal Rd. and St. Rt. 124 in Little Hocking, Ohio. This is across from the elementary school.

Historical society to hold program

Former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt (portrayed by local historian Patty Cooper of Vienna, W.Va.) will be speaking to the Washington County Historical Society Monday Nove 5th at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at the St Lukes Episcopal Church, on 2nd Street, in Marietta.

She will hold a press conference after her speech on "What you can do here on the homefront of WWII" to answer any questions. Public is invited.

Election Day dinner in Beverly

The Beverly United Methodist Church will hold its annual Election Day Dinner/Bazaar on Tuesday, Nov. 6, from 5 pm to 7 pm, with the bazaar open from 4 pm to 7 pm.

The event is sponsored by the United Methodist Women. The meal will consist of a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Suggested donation is $7 for adults and $4 for children. Take out is available by calling 740-984-2100.

The church is located at 700 Park Street in Beverly.
