From a senior nutrition program to a domestic violence shelter to a youth baseball league, the United Way of Washington County provides funding to myriad important causes.
During the current 2012-2013 campaign, the agency is seeking $266,000 that would be distributed to 18 organizations in the county.
Those groups do important work and depend on their United Way funding to complete their goals and provide services to seniors, youth and other segments of the community.
Donations made stay within the community and go to benefit your neighbors, friends and family.
For a list of all the agencies that benefit when you give locally to the United Way, go to www.washingtoncountyuw.net. It will be hard not to find an organization that you care about.
There's also information about donating there or information can be obtained by calling 373-3333.
There's still time to give. Even if it's $5 or $10, it can make a difference. If everyone pitches in a little, the goal can be met.
