As citizens of Marietta Township, we would like to urge you to support both Levy I and Levy II placed on the ballot by the Reno Volunteer Fire Department. We believe this to be an investment in our present and our future lives.
We fully understand that these levies will raise our taxes, but nothing is free in today's world and we need to think of the alternative. Without these levies, the citizens of Marietta Township will be forced to rely on outside private ambulance services. With this kind of service, the patient and/or their insurance carrier will be charged. This could result in a higher out-of-pocket expense than the amount of increased taxes would be. This would also mean a longer response time for you or your loved one. As we all know, the length of response time can mean life or death. What price do you put on a life?
Levy I is a renewal levy and will continue to generate funds to provide Marietta Township with part-time staffed EMT coverage. Levy II is a new additional levy which will generate funds to provide Marietta Township with full-time, 24/7 staffed EMT coverage. Don't you want to know that if you should need an EMT during the night, there will be one at your door within moments of your 911 call? We want that assurance and that is why we are voting for both levies.
We cannot imagine the horror of dialing 911 with an emergency and no one comes.
