A Newport man has been indicted on charges of kidnapping and rape for an alleged attack on a teenager in September.
Ronald L. Boley Jr., 43, of 20 Maple St., Apt. 2, Newport, is one of 16 individuals indicted this week by a Washington County Grand Jury.
Boley is accused of forcing the 13-year-old girl into his house as she was walking to a friend's home.
"The defendant came out and grabbed her by the arm and pulled her into his residence," said Kevin Rings, assistant Washington County prosecutor.
Rings said the man touched the girl inappropriately, engaged in sexual conduct with her against her will and would not allow her to leave. She eventually fled when he left the room to go to the bathroom.
Specifically, Boley is charged with first-degree felony counts of rape and kidnapping, a third-degree count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and a fourth-degree felony count of gross sexual imposition. He is being held in the Washington County Jail on a $40,000 bond.
Also indicted were:
Felicia A. Bryant, 34, of Memphis, Tenn., was charged with a third-degree felony count of drug trafficking, third- and fifth-degree felony counts of possession of drugs and a fifth-degree felony count of illegal processing of drug documents. Bryant was arrested Sept. 8 outside a Belpre pharmacy after she allegedly used a forged prescription to obtain 180 Lortab pills. She was also found in possession of cocaine, prosecutors said.
Bryant is accused of working with two men to obtain medication from pharmacies around the eastern United States using forged prescriptions. Rings said local authorities had been notified of the suspects and provided with a list of doctors' names on the phony prescriptions, which helped a local pharmacist identify the individuals.
Mario L. Reed, 28, of Memphis, was charged with a third-degree felony count of possession of drugs, a third-degree felony count of drug-trafficking and three fifth-degree felony counts of illegal processing of drug documents. Reed is implicated in the same scheme as Bryant and is accused of driving the vehicle, in which officers found an additional 180 Lortab pills in a hidden compartment and a pad filled with forged prescriptions.
Nickolas Q. Pruitt, 29, of Memphis, was charged with two fifth-degree felony counts of forgery and two fifth-degree felony counts of illegal processing of drug documents. He was the third individual arrested in the prescription drug scheme.
Tabetha L. Jones, 36, of 801 Broadway Ave., Parkersburg, was charged with a second-degree felony count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, two fifth-degree felony counts of theft, a fifth-degree felony count of possessing criminal tools and two first-degree misdemeanor counts of theft.
She is accused of stealing items from the Marietta Walmart on four occasions from June 16 to July 13. Rings said one of the items she allegedly stole on June 29 was a tool that removes security devices from electronic items. She was reportedly using it when she was later arrested at a Parkersburg Walmart. Rings said it appears Jones was being aided by two juveniles, who have yet to be identified.
Alex J. Handschumacher, 34, of 10 Browns Road, Marietta, and Michael Hollingsworth, 33, of 2255 Blue Knob Hill Road, Marietta, were each charged with a fourth-degree felony count of grand theft and a fifth-degree felony count of breaking and entering. They are accused of crawling under a chain link fence at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility in Marietta on Sept. 22 and attempting to steal bars of bronze aluminum.
John L. Lindsey II, 36, stated address 230 Henniger Road, Lowell, was charged with one third-degree count of failure to notify the sheriff of a change of address. Lindsey is a registered sex offender arrested Sept. 10 on a charge that he was living with his girlfriend in an apartment on Cisler Lane in Marietta without notifying authorities as required by law, Washington County Prosecutor Jim Schneider said.
Brandon S. Walters, 30, of 2604 Pike St., Apt. 17, Parkersburg, was charged with a third-degree felony count of burglary and a fourth-degree felony count of safecracking. He is accused of entering a Vincent residence, breaking open a safe and taking money from it.
Shannon Hines, 24, of 1220 Brackenridge Road, Vincent, was charged with one second-degree felony count of burglary. He is accused of stealing a video game system and other items from a home on Radabaugh Road in Marietta on or around Aug. 22.
Stacy Y. Lee, 41, and Russell S. Burkhammer Jr., 40, both of 1023 Third St., Marietta, were each charged with one third-degree felony count of tampering with drugs. Sheriff's deputies executing a search warrant at the couple's residence on Aug. 3 allegedly found pills that had been crushed, apparently to be inhaled, and pain-killing Fentanyl patches that had been drained of the medication.
Jeffrey A. Joy, 42, of 109 Lockhart St., Belpre, was charged with a fifth-degree felony count of violation of a protection order. Joy is accused of violating a protection order his wife had against him on May 25. The crime is a felony because he had been convicted of violating a protection order against her earlier in the year, Schneider said.
Nichole Y. Hesson, 31, of 200 Ankrom St., St. Marys, W.Va., was charged with two fifth-degree felony counts of possession of drugs. Belpre police allegedly found her in possession of heroin and methamphetamine after she was arrested for creating a disturbance at a local grocery store.
Justin Gibbs, 21, last known address 827 Ridge St., Marietta, was charged with a fifth-degree felony count of theft and a first-degree misdemeanor count of misuse of credit cards. He is accused of taking a friend's cell phone and credit card and buying gasoline, a drink and $800 worth of gift cards.
Nicholas J. Patterson, 30, of 2201 Murray St., Belpre, was charged with two fifth-degree felony counts of possession of drugs. He was accused of having Oxycodone and heroin when pulled over on July 15.
Preston Harris, 18, of Charleston, W.Va., was charged with one fifth-degree felony count each of breaking and entering and possession of criminal tools. Harris is accused of using a table leg to break out a window at Rink's in Marietta on May 18.
Damien A. Hines, 20, of 906 Fourth St., Marietta, was charged with one third-degree and one fourth-degree felony count of burglary. He is accused of breaking into and stealing items from a residence on Glendale Road in Marietta on Sept. 27, 2011.
