Gingerbread house workshops coming

The Castle will host two gingerbread house workshops for beginners from 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 10 and Nov. 17 at 418 Fourth St. All materials are included, plus a take home workbook. The cost is $15 per house plus a $5 helping fee for those not making a house. Space is limited. To make a reservation, call 373-4180.

Post 64 shrimp and beer dinner today

A shrimp and beer dinner will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at American Legion Post 64, Eighth and Wooster streets, Marietta. The cost for dinner is $9. There will also be a round and square dance from 7 to 10 p.m. with 4 Hits & A Miss. The cost is $4 per person. There will be a 50/50 drawing. The event is open to the public.

'Get Out the Vote'

A "Get Out to Vote" dinner with country ribs will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at VFW Post 5108, 319 Pike St., Marietta. The cost is $8 per person. The event is a fundraiser for the post's ladies auxiliary. For carryout, call 374-9038.

Movie matinee

at public library

The Marietta location of the Washington County Public Library will hold an afternoon matinee featuring the classic foreign film "Bicycle Thieves" at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the library meeting room. To register, stop by the information desk or call 373-1057, Ext. 208.

First chili cookoff

The Washington County Fish and Game Club will hold its first chilli cookoff at the clubhouse in Whipple from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. The trustees will provide the chilli and the public will vote. The event is free with donations accepted. There will be a 50/50 drawing and music.

Fulda church to serve annual dinner

St. Mary's Church in Fulda will serve its annual Sauerkraut and Bohnen Brie Dinner Sunday. Serving time is 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The menu will include pork, sauerkraut, Bohnen Brie, mashed potatoes, homemade noodles, applesauce, rolls and dessert. There will be bingo from 1 to 3 p.m., a craft table and a raffle drawing at 3 p.m. The event is open to the public. The church is located seven miles east of Caldwell, off Ohio 564 on Fulda Road.
