Voter willing to deal for the sake of his children

November 6, 2012
The Marietta Times

I am offering for sale, one vote in the state of Ohio. For the right price, I will forgo good common sense and vote for the incumbent president.

I will forget about his childhood spent with admitted anti-American and communist mentors, the lack of any educational records, and spending 20 years in a church that preached hate against the U.S. and the white majority. I will overlook his lack of job experience and give more credit to his only occupation as a community organizer (you might have to remind me what a community organizer does again because I have not met any in southeastern Ohio). I will believe what the mainstream media tells me about how intelligent he is despite his gaffes every time he doesn't have a teleprompter in front of him. I will disregard the fact gasoline prices have doubled, unemployment has doubled, and food and utility prices have increased by 20 percent. I will turn my head from the fact that 100 coal-fired power plants have closed since he took office and another 200 are slated to be shut down in the next two years, despite the fact that 60 percent of our electricity comes from coal. I will discard the reality that he stopped the Keystone Pipeline, cut the available amount of federal land for oil and gas drilling by 50 percent, and prevented drilling in the gulf while giving Venezuela $3 billion to do just that. I will ignore that he has produced one trillion dollar deficits for each year he has been president and the national debt has increased to over $16 trillion. I will close my eyes to the billions of dollars given to his major donors at "green" companies that have gone bankrupt since taking our tax dollars. I will discount how he blames the previous administration, Wall Street, the evil One Percent, Republicans, etc., and never accepts blame for any of his numerous failures. I will overlook the fact that he sued a state in my country for enforcing federal immigration laws. I will pay no heed to the Fast and Furious scandal, the upheaval in the Middle East, and the numerous lies he has been caught in since taking office. I will accept as true that another four years of his policies will improve the economy even though he has no idea of how to make that happen. I will neglect to notice that the clueless Joseph Biden is one heartbeat away from being the most powerful person in the world. I will abandon the idea that Romney, having actually started businesses and created jobs without taxpayer money, has ideas on how to stop the U.S. from going off the financial cliff.

For all of this, I am willing to sell my vote for the price of my children's future.
