Vet's Appreciation Day Wednesday

Veteran's Appreciation Day will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Campus Martius Museum in Marietta. There will be free admission for veterans and a narration on the new Civil War Exhibit "Touched By Conflict" beginning at 2 p.m. Complimentary refreshments will be available throughout the day.

Armchair Travels to focus on East Coast

Armchair Travels, a sharing of travel experiences, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the O'Neill Center, 333 Fourth St. Marietta, with local author Lynne Bodry Shuman.

The event is held the second Wednesday of each month in November and December, with Shuman leading discussions of favorite travel destinations. On Wednesday, the discussion will be about East Coast beach destinations. Those attending are invited to bring their own stories and scrapbooks.

MHS?Band Boosters arts and crafts show

The Marietta High School Band Boosters will hold its 20th annual arts and crafts show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Junior Fair Building at the Washington County Fairgrounds. The selection will include primitive items, glass, "steampunk," apparel, jewelry, baked goods, photography, portraits, woodcraft, holiday decor and fiber craft. Concessions will be available all day.

Free meal, clothing giveaway at church

A free meal and clothing giveaway will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church, 503 Seventh St., Marietta.

Relay For Life team plans craft show

The Peoples Bank "Fighting 4 Life" Relay for Life team will hold a craft and vendor show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Gilman United Methodist Church located on Gilman Street in Marietta. All proceeds benefit Washington County Relay for Life.

VFW ladies auxiliary meal fundraiser

The New Matamoras VFW Ladies Auxiliarly Post 6387 will hold its annual turkey dinner fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday.
