By Jay W. Bennett - Sports Writer , Special to The Times

Williamstown's Brooke Cieslewski and Tyler Consolidated's Allison Wable were picked by league coaches as co-Players of the Year for the Little Kanawha Conference.

Cieslewski was one of seven Yellowjacket seniors to help lead WHS to its second Class A volleyball title in school history, which came via a three set sweep of LKC champion Tyler Consolidated.

The libero Cieslewski finished just a half dozen digs shy of 700 for the season and had a match-high of 41 this year versus Warren. She also added 48 aces and 21 kills. Wable, a Class AA first team all-state pick a year ago as a junior, tallied 537 kills, 135 blocks, 87 digs and 37 aces.

Williamstown libero Brooke Cieslewski celebrates at the state tournament in Charleston last Saturday. Recently, she was named the Little Kanawha Conference co-Player of the Year.

While Wable earned first team all-LKC honors for a second straight season, the only pair of three-time all-LKC first team picks were Wirt County's Emily Ohrn and Parkersburg Catholic's Maddie Roedersheimer. Ohrn played all over the court for the Tigers and produced 68 aces, more than 700 assists and 200 kills. She also had more than 80 blocks and served at 95 percent. Roedersheimer was a big key in helping the Crusaderettes reach the state tournament for the first time in 17 years. The senior not only served at 97 percent, but had 433 kills, 170 digs and 51 blocks.

Williamstown also landed Carley Ellison (47 aces, 136 blocks, 187 digs, 236 kills) and Kenzie Smith (56 aces, 189 kills, 528 assists) on the first team unit while Wable was joined by teammate Torrye Cline. Cline finished with 1,003 assists. She added 305 digs, 44 blocks and 64 aces.

Ohrn also had a pair of orange and black teammates pick up first team accolades thanks to Taylor Watson (350-plus kills, 100-plus blocks) and Brandy Bunch (227 kills, 42 blocks).
