Jerome Joseph "Jerry" Dunn, 79, died this week in Marietta.
He was born Aug. 23, 1933 in Susquehanna, Pa., to Joseph and Anna Mae Bradstreet Dugan. Jerry received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from General Motors Institute and his Masters in Trade and Industrial Education from Kent State. He worked for GM in Elyria from 1945 to 1970. He then moved to Marietta and worked for, and retired from, WVU at Parkersburg as Professor Emeritus. He was the first director/dean of Washington Technical College.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Kerber (Howard) and Margaret Miller, all of Elyria; four grandchildren, Catherine and Ian Kerber, Sarah Michler (Rob) and Josh Miller.
He was preceded in death by his mother; his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Borden Dunn; and a brother, Charles Brad Dunn.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 16, 2012) at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home with the Rev. Linda Steelman officiating. The family will greet friends on Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Following his service, he will be cremated and his ashes will be interred in Mound Cemetery.
